We started in the middle... then stalled

We have been in the home for over a month now. But to go back a little... I'll want these details one day and they are already fading away.

We listed the house November 23rd.
We had the 2 offers on November 25th.
We had all conditions lifted on December 1st.
We got our new keys on December 15th.
Movers on December 18th.

And then we hosted a Christmas Eve dinner.
Then Christmas Day.
Then Ukrainian Christmas Day.

But enough details. Story time.

December 15th at about noon we got the keys. Met our realtor at the house... and it was ours. That night we set up the tree and Christmas decorations. Santa had to know where to go! Ate pizza, walked around marveling at everything. Our home.

Saturday and Sunday we had aspirations of somehow moving mattresses in and sleeping at the house. But with ALL the packing we still had to do at the old house it wasn't in the cards. We spent a lot of time moving what we could to the new house and packing everything from the old house.

At 9am the movers met us at our storage locker. The quickly emptied that and came to the house, Initially we hired 3 movers, but one was ill. They guys walked through and said there wasn't too much - the two of them could handle it.

What they didn't know? How GOOD we were at utilizing every single inch of storage in that house. What didn't seem to be *TOO* much was actually a 30 foot truck. Tetris filled to the top. With not an inch to spare. In fact, as they were leaving the old house, Neil saw a propane tank that was left behind and went to put it in the truck. And then paused. There was no space at all for it... In his car it came. And then we had to UNLOAD that moving truck. In the beginning it was organized. Boxes and furniture were put in the room we envisioned it would go in. By the end? Boxes in. Anywhere. We'll move stuff later.

Twelve hours later. They left. We paid. Best money spent. Ever.

That night, we slept in the new house. Maddy's room was the first to be unpacked and sorted. To help her sleep. Our room was nothing more than a mattress and boxes everywhere.

But we are home.
