And now for something different

Ha! No. Still floors.

The family room is ready for stain! IT IS READY FOR STAIN! We may be able to move stuff back in there as early as TOMORROW. Hot damn. When we moved in, we just threw everything in there. Not we're taking the time to think through the placement (and what we're moving back in there). Two items are out for sure (they don't match the new house). A third is possibly going...

The first swipes of the sander, in the family room. The wood is apparently red oak. it was just YELLOW.

And now, with the icky stain gone it's gorgeous! Although I really really REALLY need a new wall colour now.

And the work starts upstairs! This is our master bedroom floor. You can see so many of the nail heads now... this will be the last sanding of these 95 year old floors...

And then with the gunk pulled out... I can't even BEGIN to think about what all those flakes are... But you can see the greying scuffs. That is from the sealant used before. Ours will not be that way ever again! 

But the actual sanding is starting, and I just keep reminding myself how amazing it will be once finished.
