Our first MAJOR reno

And it's a doozy.

We are re-doing all the wood floors. The stuff laid in 1923, the office space, done in the 1960's and the "new" family room from the... 1970's? 90's?

I figured the family room was fine. It was in good shape! Compared to the 1923 floor yes. Compared to new floor? Nope. Worn and scuffed and showing it's age.

So all floors are being redone.

We will need to take every piece of furniture out of the room (and closet tracks and some stuff on walls). And then keep everything out of that room for FOUR DAYS.

We can enter the room, we can walk on it. But no furniture. Which means sleeping... where? For four days? We just MOVED IN. I don't want to pack everything and move it out again... But the company is awesome and they are doing most of the house first, leaving the bedrooms. And then bedrooms (and family room) last so that we can move things around.

Although where to sleep... sitting room? Purple goddess room, on just our mattresses? Probably the latter. Surrounded by boxes. All 4 of us in one room (we can't leave Lexi out). At least there is an attached bathroom?

We just settled in. Just feeling happy where things are landing! And time for upheaval.

Although this reno has to be done, to save the old floors. And then they are good for another 50 years or so.

And then? Paint a few rooms? Gets the lights fixed in the sitting room. Maybe in the late summer get a gas insert in the fireplace?

And then wait for the ANCIENT furnaces to kick the bucket. It won't be long... One is almost as old as me (and I am a middle aged woman). And that reno will be super duper not cheap too...
