FLOORS ARE DONE

And they look amazing. Everything is back to normal in the dining room, sitting room and playroom. Rug goes down in the family room tomorrow. And then the bedrooms on Friday. And then we're done with floors!

They look amazing. Not perfect, with the old floors. But so so so much better. Although the sitting room walls don't look... good... anymore. Too yellow. Which makes us think of painting them too...

Family room, raw and one coat of stain. The floors are stunning... I hate the wall colur even more now.

Family room, fully stained, but wet (they are not at all this shiny).

And the bedroom raw. They look AMAZING. All those dirty spots? Gone! Although we definitely cannot sand these again. They are at the nail.

And the stairs were cleaned. JUST cleaned! And they look much better. On the list to do? Have them totally sanded and restained. In time...

And we also replaced the bedroom blinds. SO. MUCH. BETTER. Much cleaner lines, simpler. Brighter. Makes us see how much we really really need art on the walls.

Old blinds. Dark. dreary. Dated.

New blind! Different window... Simpler. Brighter.

Completely UN-styled bedroom.

We need to fix the lighting in the family room. And then paint the family room, main floor bath, spare room/library and our bedroom. And then remove the shower head, hanging precariously from the ceiling in the main floor bath. You don't believe me?

The whole contraption. When we moved in there were curtains hanging here. They were taken down. And.... are actually shoved UNDER the tub because we haven't gotten around to throwing them out...  Oops.

Close up of the ceiling. and the screw pulled out of what I am assuming is just ceiling drywall.

YOU ARE OUTTA THERE

Eventually the tub will be gone too, and a linen closet (accessed from the hall) will be in that place. We have no linen closet... I use part of the playroom. It's not ideal.

But it's still our dream house.
