Halloween 2018

When we moved, we were warned. There will be a LOT of kids for Halloween. 300 kids? More?

Part of me was worried it was some kind of new neighbour prank? Although everyone shared the story - our street is THE Halloween street.

We bought a LOT of candy.

And then it was October 31. Around 5:30pm we got our first kids. Just a trickle... Adorable littles, parents were almost all dressed up. Promising!

And then around 6pm we grabbed the kid (she was literally running in circles on the lawn) and headed out. We ran into neighbours, and walked as a group. Parents talking, kids running ahead, helping each other be brave if there were scarier houses.

There was an amazingly frightening house, with actors dressed up as zombies, and car wrecks and it was EERIE.

And the, as it got darker, there was no way to capture, on a cell, the groups and groups of kids. The laughter and screams of fright.

How it was absolutely, idyllically PERFECT.

We have somewhere around 500 kids. FIVE HUNDRED. And didn't run out of candy!

Our daughter went to a bunch of houses, then handed out candy. At points it was just a supply chain of hands passing candy, throwing it into bags. The kids were adorable and polite. Everywhere... something out of a movie. Better than a movie...

I can't wait for next year!
