Incremental upgrades
There really hasn't been anything HUGE happening at the house. We're putting in little tweaks here and there.
We replaced a light in the hall, it looks MUCH nicer than the old track lighting.
Then we've picked the lighting we'd like in the kitchen. Something more classic. Recessed lights in part, hanging pendants for above the sink. And then a funky sputnik style chandelier over the table. This one would be PERFECT (found on Wayfair). So perfect... ooooh... may need to buy this perfect...
Although, because OF COURSE where we want to put this chandelier? There are THREE junction boxes in the ceiling. NONE in the centre. The outlets are there the larger squares in the track lighting are. The centre hanging light is about where the centre of the table is. We have had the electrician in to see how much/even if we can have just one light in the centre.

Old track lighting
New lighting! With doggo
We then replaced another light in the same hall that had the old directional lighting. With the same new one. Consistency and slowly, slowly... the ugly 1990's lighting goes away.

And then we picked up some reproduction push button light switches - how things would have likely been. Such a small detail, but such a neat impact! The cover plates are old, with patina on them. Have to swap out the white screws... some are coming from the USA already!
We picked up 2 awesome Morris chairs, brought from a town near The Hague, Netherlands. The wood is original, the seats have been reupholstered with leather. Super petite, fits in the space PERFECTLY. And then 2 craftsman style end tables. Not vintage, not super quality but they fit in the space nicely.
And then from the Village of Donalda, we got a hall stand, which has the perfect feel. It's a little wobbly, but as long as no one sits on it, it'll be ok until we can reinforce it.
And then less period/more future? We got a bigger TV for the family room (our only TV), some more Sonos boxes for other rooms in the house for music, a new upright deep freeze. A new coffee table for the family room (one I can put my feet on!).
Our home continues to be amazing. It's exactly perfect for us. My heart still skips a beat when I turn up the street, knowing I get to live in this amazing place, with my wonderful family.
