One Year (plus a few days)
We have been in our home an entire year now! And it's still magical to come home, to spend time here.
Here is the house the day we moved in.
Not TOO much different. Barrels gone. Other planters instead. Balls gone, A hint of green added to the pillars. The plaque, commemorating Mr. Kirkoff. And not much more done to the front.
We have new house numbers that I hope to install over the break. In the spring will paint the porch. And power wash the vinyl siding. Maybe paint the fence on the left side of the picture.
One day I would love to replace the siding with something more authentic. Although there is a LOT of square footage to replace. And maintain. But in the next year or two the 4 upstairs windows will be replaced. Something that would look original. And then there are 7 other 1990's vinyl windows that need replacing, but we wouldn't need to worry too much about making them as authentic. And the porch is not original, but old. It will need to be replaced in time.
Always more work, but it's a labour of love. Happy one year, our home. Can't wait to spend the next 30+ years making more memories here!

The barrels are still there. And the little balls on the top of the railings.
