Spring 2019!
After a long and brutally cold winter... and then another winter. Then CENTIMETERS of snow in May... WE HAVE SPRING!
And here is where we have the house now.
What have be done over the winter? Not TOO much.
We had the Mayday tree pruned back a bit and had some black rot addressed. Hoping the tree springs back!
We installed a screen door. Which has been AMAZING for air flow in the front of the house.
Inside there was nothing big. Just little design things? Wait! We filled the holes in the ceiling of the family room and kitchen eating area.
But this spring we HAVE A LIST:
1) replace the main furnace (we're leaving the baby furnace there for now)
2) replace the eaves on the house - they are NOT well installed
3) replace the garage roof. It needs it...
4) have an interior designer in to help us figure out how to get at least 2 desk AND a couch/sectional plus the TV into the family room. Plus help us have a vision for the rest, moving forward.
5) replace the numbers on the house. And the doorbell.
6) when we added the screen door the ORIGINAL front light was too low. We have a new front light but I want to refinish the original light, and then rewire it for the inside of the house
7) repaint the porch - and maybe all the parging around the house. The green is just so... ugh! I think it would look sharper with brick coloured parging
And that SHOULD be enough for this year.
We have an energy audit done so we can get some money back on our furnace. And the patching of the holes in the ceiling should also get us some money back. Although, sadly, the program is being cancelled... we have to get our $ before it's all gone.
But a busy spring/summer planned! Can't wait to get started on it all. We still love this house endlessly...
