A bit of history
Our neighbour used to own our house. And while she's still there (she's 85) I had to pop by and ask a question.
WHAT was the room where the current basement stairs are?
Our house has a new set of stairs, super wide, that lead to the basement extension. It's AWESOME because nearly 100 year old houses usually have narrow stairs. Stumpy basements. Our does NOT/ Which makes moving musical equipment easier.
But where the stairs are, would have been a room. And now I know.
It was an informal eating area. Where the family had everyday meals.
Great to know!
