More lighting (but there is SO MUCH to update!)

Another month, another light switched out. There was SERIOUSLY so much dated 1990's stuff in  the house. One of the last (for now) things was done. The lights over the "island".

Initially they were just the track lighting everywhere. And then, when we moved the dining lights out, we hung the old dining lights over the island.And it was ok. Fine. But they got HOT. And they would get in the way of speaking to people on the other side.

And they were ugly.

It took a LONG time to find the right light. I didn't want to bring in the electrician. So we had to use the one junction that was there; so no three hanging pendants. And I wanted it to match the sputnik in the eating area. But not be SO mid-century that it didn't go with the rest.

This one is not perfect. But it's so much nice. And the light is better.

Track lighting. SO MUCH TRACK LIGHTING. Everywhere. Tracks.  

Hideous.  

So much better! And looks good with the sputnik. Provides good light for dishes. (Please ignore all the mess on the table)

There are still 2 tracks in the kitchen. But those will likely become pot lights one day. And so we'll maybe wait until the entire kitchen gets redone?

Which is another event. We'll likely keep the same footprint. With ALL THE DOORS and pass ways, it is hard to move things around. But we need to go some work on the tile. And the cabinets. And the dated granite... But baby steps. At least there is light!
